Partywall Act

With the introduction of the Party Wall Act 1996 in England which became Law on 1st April 1997 the whole of the country now has legislation to cover the affects of neighbours construction and can be safeguarded against anti-social or unsound construction practices

A typical Award will include a schedule of conditions of the Adjoining Property so that it can be established later whether any damage has occured

The Act deals with the following issues:

Construction of new walls on boundaries

repairs and modifications to existing Party Walls

Excavation adjacent to neighbouring properties
